Ismail asked:

The Internet is the best and probably the most comprehensive source of information in the world; so, if you’re looking for free dog training tips to improve the relationship with your four-legged friend, run a simple search and see what you can find out. If you’re wondering about the reliability of the free dog training tips online, there is one way to get convinced, try them and see if there is noticeable progress in your dog’s behavioral patterns. If the Internet doesn’t suit your purposes, a friend who is also a dog owner may fill you in on some free dog training tips.

It is known fact that the greatest disadvantage about applying free dog training tips is that owners often don’t have enough time to devote to their pet. However, you can practice for instance the “sit” command together with other free dog training tips at any moment; you don’t need special preparation for that. You may even turn your attention to the dog during a commercial break for instance, or when playing “fetch”. Before throwing the ball, you can apply a simple free dog training tip or command: “sit” or “down” and continue with the game after the dog obeys it.

Many free dog training tips will help you teach your dog target focus: the simplest form of the kind is paw or touch. You actually get the animal focus on a specific area and then perform a certain action afterwards. Such free dog training tips are used in competitions as well as in daily life, when you want for instance to turn the pet’s attention from you. Moving and finding a specific place are forms of targeting and they are considered to be the first step towards retrieving. Free dog training tips applied for the matter will make you improve the relationship with the pet, it will move away from the couch for instance.

For professional free dog training tips it is a good idea to have a look at the following site: Download Your Free Report . People who actually apply free dog training tips find it very entertaining for both parts involved; keep in mind that the first to benefit is your pet. By sticking to some free dog training tips not only will you save money, but you’ll also avoid specific mistakes that dog owners make, thus ruining their chances of ever growing an obedient animal.

Dog tips!

Keith S.G. Gilbert asked:

Dog training is very important if you would like to ensure that you and your new pet will be able to live in harmony. Dog training can correct or modify a number of the dog’s natural behaviors, making the dog much more suited to life being taken care of in your home. There are a number of different ways available to train your dog and by following these 7 basic dog training tips, you will find that the training goes smoothly and is fun for both you and your dog.

1. If you are unsure of how to train your dog, seek help.

Individuals that would like to train their dog often have no idea how dog training is conducted or how the personality of their dog will factor into the training process. There are a number of different books and reference materials available to help a person train their dog, and if the owner is still unsure or uncomfortable with the training methods, they can ask a professional dog trainer for assistance and additional dog training tips.

2. Negative reinforcement is the least effective training method.

One of the dog training tips that most dog training professionals wish more people knew is that using negative reinforcement or punishment to train the dog is the least effective way to get the dog to obey you, but is the most effective way of making the dog fearful or aggressive towards you and others.

3. Making dog training fun also makes the training more effective.

Another one of the most important dog training tips to remember is that dogs love to please and are eager to learn in all stages of life, so making the dog training fun for the dog not only makes the training more enjoyable but also makes the lesson easier to learn for your dog.

4. Don’t be afraid to use small treats as rewards.

Giving the dog a small treat for a job well done will not hurt the training process and will make the training more enjoyable for the dog. The treat chosen as the reward should only be given during the training process and on the successful completion of the task the dog was asked to do.

5. Research training products extensively before deciding which to purchase.

There are a large number of different training products on the market today and some of these products are intended for a specific use, not for general obedience training. Some of the products will have features that are not necessary to the training that you are trying to conduct, while some others may have features that will make your training sessions easier.

6. Dog training takes time.

Just as you didn’t learn how to read in a day, your dog will not master a command or a trick within the space of a day. It takes time for a dog to remember and execute a desired behavior after it has been introduced to them, so this important dog training tip is to give the training time to work and the dog time to understand what you are asking him to do.

7. If at first you don’t succeed, try again.

This last tip of the important dog training tips is that if your dog fails to understand a training method or a command, try a different teaching method. Just like different people learn in different ways, different dogs learn in different ways as well.

Dog tips!

Chris Hope asked:

of some of the most effective dog training tips you can implement to improve the behavior of your dog and increase obedience.

Exercise Your Dog Prior to Being Gone for a Long Period of Time

Make sure your dog gets plenty of exercise prior to you leaving the house for awhile. Before work, let your dog out if possible while you get ready or take her for a walk. Or you can have someone come by to play with her a bit. If she gets restless or needs to get rid of some energy and is housebound trouble can ensue.

Only Allow Your Dog to Chew on Chewing Toys and Nothing Else

If you play a friendly game of tug-a-war with an old shoe or some other old item you no longer need, you may inadvertently give your dog the message that it would be okay to chew on those new items you don\’t want damaged. If you dog happens to get a hold of something you don\’t want her getting a hold of, treat it with bitter apple to teach her to dislike chewing on those items. Also make sure your dog has plenty of chewing toys around so she won\’t feel the need to get into something else.

Feed Your Dog on a Regular schedule and Always after the Household Eats

Have regular feeding times for your dog, and always feed your family first then your dog. This helps establish dominance over your dog, which is vital to controlling your dog\’s behavior in a non-combative way. Dominant behavior from your dog can lead to bad habits such as chewing, growling, and excessive aggression towards other dogs and possibly people.

Keep Your Dog from Getting Bored

This expands from the previous tip of making sure your dog gets plenty of exercise. Mixed it up – take her on walks, play fetch, let her run around at the park, possibly let her mingle with other dogs at the local dog park. Rotate a fresh supply of dog toys to keep her from getting bored of old toys. Good toys include rubber squeaky toys (good for when you are not around the house), dog rope chews, chewing bones, and plush toys you can find at the local pet store.

Dog tips!

Mike Laxman asked:

Whether you just got a new puppy, or you adopted an older dog, no doubt you want to train your dog to be well behaved. This can vary from house training your dog, to training your dog how to sit and stay. No matter what kind of training you are trying to do with your dog, there are some tips that can be very helpful to you. The following are five effective dog training tips that can help you train your dog in half the time.

Dog Training Tip #1 – Use Positive Reinforcement – Unfortunately there are many people who try training their dog by using negative techniques, and this is not an effective way to train your dog. Instead of yelling at your dog or giving him negative attention, it is important that you positively reinforce his good behavior when you are training him. Use praise, petting, and even treats whenever he performs well. You want the training to be fun for you and your dog, so make sure you use positive reinforcement for the best results.

Dog Training Tip #2 – Use Short Training Sessions – Just like children, dogs can be overwhelmed by a great deal of new information at one time. If you try to teach them too much in one setting, more than likely they will forget a good deal of it by the next day. It is best if you only have training sessions that last about 15-20 minutes with your dog. Every time you have a training session with your dog, try to focus on only one new command and reviewing previous commands that have been learned. This will help your dog better retain the information and training.

Dog Training Tip #3 – Use a Pleasant and Firm Voice – When you are training your dog the voice that you use is very important. You should be sure that you use a voice that is pleasant; however, you also want your voice to be firm and commanding as well. Make sure that your voice reflects that you are in control, but be sure that you do not sound mean.

Dog Training Tip #4 – Have Patience with Your Dog – If you are going to train your dog, you are going to need to make sure that you have plenty of patience. No doubt it will not be easy, but you need to make sure that you show your dog patience and not frustration. If you do not think that you have the patience to train your dog, then you may want to send him to obedience school or have someone else do it for you.

Dog Training Tip #5 – Avoid Any Distractions While Training – Another important tip to remember when trying to train your dog is to avoid any distractions while you are training your dog. If you happen to own any other pets, make sure that they are not around when you are trying to train your dog. You want the area to be free of distractions so your dog is focused on you and what you are trying to teach him.

Dog tips!

Margareta Setijoso asked:

A few sources echo similar techniques that ensure success when training your dog. After scouring the web and throughly researched the issue, I have tried many tips and found a few that actually yield results.

Always reward good behavior. It may seem obvious however, many pet owners find themselves unconditionally pleased with their pet. For instance it may be easy to notice a behavior such as laying down and rolling over as adorable and reward the animal with attention and positive feedback. Other situations it may be less obvious that your dog is actually carrying out desired behavior. When potty training, after a long day when your dog eliminates outside for instance, make sure you do not abandon the dog at this time, remind it that it is doing the right thing verbally.

Never reward undesired behavior. A dog will learn with consistency and love. Don’t fall for cute tricks. Only encourage desired behaviors. Follow through with commands. If you instruct your dog to do something, make certain that it does. In other words, do not give commands that you are unwilling to take the time to enforce. Follow through with your instructions even if you have to physically, gently of course, place the dog in what ever position you stated. If this is consistent your dog will learn much more quickly and be obeying you in no time.

Proper exercise. When given a chance to expend energy and the freedom to walk or run your dog will behave much differently in the home. This is crucial to a having a healthy pet as it is a fundamental need of the animal. Although dogs are domesticated they still flourish when outdoors.

Avoid double commands. Do not instruct two things at one time. It is beneficial to your dog to be able to follow through with a command and then be rewarded. Multiple commands are fine as long as they do not overlap.

These are just a few of my favorite dog training tips. Ever since I started I’ve noticed a world of difference. They are simple, to the point, and effective.

Dog tips!
